Business Conference and Meeting between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Kurdistan Region in Erbil

With the support of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil and Iran's national pavilion at the Seventh Erbil Building Materials and Industrial Exhibition, and in the presence of Dana Abdul Karim, Minister of Reconstruction, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Gaylan Haji Said, President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Faramarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, Haji Faisal Kurdi, member of the Chamber's Executive Council, and presidents and members of chambers of commerce in regional cities, and presidents of several economic associations and unions, this evening, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Ramada Hotel in Erbil city, a conference and meeting was held with 38 merchants and company owners participating in the Seventh Erbil Exhibition for Building Materials and Construction Industry between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Kurdistan Region merchants in Erbil.
The purpose of this meeting and conference is to enhance cooperation and investment opportunities between the commercial and official sides of both parties, particularly in the fields of building materials, electricity, and cooling and heating systems.
At the conference, some government officials delivered speeches and spoke clearly about the growth of market size and the cooperation capabilities of both sides.
In a speech, Gaylan Haji Said, President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the strength of commercial relations between both sides, saying: "Erbil Chamber of Commerce is in the process of preparing to establish a commercial mediation center, and this will be an excellent step for further deepening economic relations and will be a good opportunity for Iranian investors and companies. The Chamber also showed its readiness and assistance for all facilities and support for them."
Subsequently, a B2B meeting was held, where merchants and companies discussed direct dialogue and identified areas of cooperation and their development.
The conference concluded with efforts to further develop commercial and official relations between Iran and the Kurdistan Region.
