Next Month, A Large Delegation of Construction Sector Companies from Turkey's Konya City to Visit Erbil

Today, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Kamaran Salah Bajgar and Maruf Azizkhan Harki, Vice Presidents of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Ibrahim Mohammed Agha, Executive Council member of the Chamber, welcomed Husamedin Gongor, Foreign Trade Manager of Konya Chamber of Commerce, and Muzdat Krach, Foreign Trade Expert of Konya Chamber of Commerce.
In a meeting attended by both the General Director and advisor of the Chamber, after the welcome, light was shed on the strong commercial relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region.
Kamaran Salah Bajgar, Vice President of the Chamber, spoke generally about the work and activities of Erbil Chamber of Commerce, expressing hope that this delegation's visit would lead to the participation of Erbil and Konya companies in each other's international exhibitions and the exchange of commercial delegations between both sides.
The Chamber's Vice President discussed the strength of commercial relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region, saying: "The impact of Turkish companies and investors is evident in the reconstruction and building of Erbil city and the Kurdistan Region."
Husamedin Gongor, Foreign Trade Manager of Konya Chamber of Commerce, thanked this warm reception, announcing: "After Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Konya Chamber of Commerce is the second oldest chamber in Turkey. Konya has approximately 100 industrial zones, with a trade exchange volume of over 400 million dollars with Iraq." He added: "We are looking to increase this volume."
He said: "This is the first official visit of Konya Chamber of Commerce to Erbil Chamber of Commerce, and we are trying to establish a strong relationship with this chamber." The Foreign Trade Manager of Konya Chamber of Commerce also clarified: "At the beginning of next month, we will visit Erbil city with 24 companies specialized in the construction sector to conduct a business meeting with Erbil city companies. We hope that Erbil Chamber of Commerce will support and coordinate with us to organize this meeting."
The attendees from the Chamber confirmed their support for the Chamber of Commerce, and also clarified that they would help bring companies and investors from other sectors as well, especially the agricultural sector to the Kurdistan Region and Erbil city.
