This evening, Monday, July 28, 2025, in the meeting hall of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Reza Rahmani, Governor of West Azerbaijan, Kamaran Salah Bajgar, Deputy Chairman of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Framarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, Ahmad Rekani, President of the Kurdistan Investors Union, Saman Arab, Director General of Erbil Investment, Kamal Hussein Pour, representative of the cities of Sardasht, Khane, Shno and Naghada, Nabaz Abdul Hamid, Mayor of Erbil Central District, Karzan Abdul Hadi, Mayor of Erbil, members of the Executive Council of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, heads of the Erbil branch of the Contractors, Transport and Shipping Union, and several general directors and government officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region, a meeting was organized.
At the beginning of the meeting, Kamaran Salah Bajgar, Deputy Chairman of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered a welcome speech, emphasizing the further development of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region, saying: The existence of several factors has made the relations strong, more than 200 companies from the Islamic Republic of Iran are in the city of Erbil, $4 billion is the volume of trade exchange between Kurdistan and Iran, and we encourage investors from West Azerbaijan Province to invest in various sectors.
The Deputy Chairman of the Chamber expressed hope that the visit of this delegation would add more vitality to the relations between both sides.
Then each of Ahmad Rekani, President of the Kurdistan Investors Union, Sherzad Burhan, President of the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Contractors Union, Rasul Haji Omar, President of the Erbil branch of Kurdistan Transport and Shipping, Yasin Mahmoud, President of the Sulaymaniyah branch of the Investors Union, and Framarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented their speeches, expressing their support, cooperation and coordination for further development of commercial relations between both sides.
Reza Rahmani, Governor of West Azerbaijan, thanked the Kurdistan Region officials for facilitating Iranian visitors and described it as further development of relations between both sides in all fields.
The Governor of West Azerbaijan said: Having a common culture and common religion motivates us for more joint work, and we consider the Kurdistan Region as our true partner.
Reza Rahmani also said: We support and assist Kurdistan investors to invest in our city, and to increase commercial relations, we seek to form a joint committee between the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and West Azerbaijan.
Later, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, delivered a speech, announcing that the relations between both sides are now at a very good level and we strive to develop them further.
The Governor of Erbil said: The annual meeting of the governors of the Kurdistan Region and the border provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran is irrefutable evidence of the strength of relations between both sides, as well as President Barzani's and the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister's reception of this delegation and emphasis on conducting the ceremonies of visitors from the Islamic Republic of Iran in the best way for them, shows the solidity of relations between both sides.
The Governor of Erbil thanked the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which has always been cooperative and coordinated in developing commercial relations with all countries, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran.
