Today, Monday, 21/4/2025, Kamaran Salah Bajger, Deputy Chairman of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the presence of Haji Ismail Surchi and Kamaran Mohammed Saleh, members of the Chamber's Administrative Council, received Kazim Al-Shamary and Dr. Bryar Rashid, in Economic, Industry and Commerce Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
In a meeting attended by the Secretary-General of the Federation of Kurdistan Region Chambers of Commerce and the advisor to the Erbil Chamber of Commerce, after welcoming them, the visiting delegation praised the role and activities of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, describing it as one of the influential chambers of commerce in advancing and developing the private sector in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
During this meeting, they discussed further development of the commercial and industrial sectors in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and emphasized the removal of all obstacles that hinder the growth of these sectors.
Also during the meeting, the Chamber representatives explained to the guests the problems and difficulties facing industrialists and factory owners in the Kurdistan Region, including hindrances to the transportation and shipping of goods and products by factory owners and merchants to central and southern Iraqi cities, as well as legal issues regarding trademarks between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They expressed hope that efforts would be made to resolve these issues.
Another topic of the meeting was discussing how industrialists and factory owners in the Kurdistan Region could benefit from federal government support, similar to other Iraqi cities.
