Today, Wednesday, 2/26/2025, Kamaran Salah Bajger and Marouf Azizxan Harki, Deputy Presidents of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the presence of Haji Ismail Surchi and Salar Salah Khoshnaw, members of the Chamber's administrative council, received Adisak Jantatum, Deputy Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan and Iraq, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Adisak Jantatum, Deputy Thai Ambassador, expressed his pleasure in visiting the Kurdistan Region and the Chamber of Commerce, praising the developments, security, and stability in the Kurdistan Region. He said, "In the recent period, we visited the city of Erbil and the Kurdistan Region with a delegation of Thai merchants and companies. It was a very successful visit, as this delegation spoke positively about the visit upon their return to Thailand and expressed their admiration for the security and stability in the Kurdistan Region. This visit was also discussed in the media and formed an incentive for the community of merchants and business owners in our country."
The Thai Deputy Ambassador said, "We have come to strengthen relations and establish coordination with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For this purpose, we presented an invitation to the Chamber to visit Thailand and participate in the International Food, Beverage, and Technology Exhibition, which is one of the largest exhibitions in the Asian continent. We will also organize several business meetings during your visit."
Adisak added that Thai merchants and companies will participate for the first time in the healthcare sector in the markets of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with high-quality products.
For his part, Kamaran Salah Bajger, Deputy President of the Chamber, after welcoming, thanked his efforts to strengthen trade relations between the two sides. He stated that the Kurdistan Region has become a center of attention for countries due to security, stability, and the availability of work opportunities in all sectors, and expressed his hope that Thai merchants and companies would be able to benefit from these opportunities.
The Deputy President of the Chamber said, "Developing the exchange of trade delegations between the two sides will lead to benefiting from experiences and strengthening the economic sector."
In this meeting, the Chamber representatives expressed their hope that they would be able, through the embassy, to facilitate matters for merchants, company owners, and business owners in the Kurdistan Region, especially in granting visas.
In response to the Chamber's request regarding visa issuance, the Thai Deputy Ambassador said, "Since the beginning of this year, we have made visa applications electronic, and we will certainly provide all facilities for merchants and business owners in the Kurdistan Region, especially those who submit their applications with the support of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We will try, in a very short period, to grant long-term visas and send the visa via email.
