Today, Thursday, May 22, 2025, Maarouf Aziz Khan Harki, Deputy President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Haji Ismail Surchi and Haji Ibrahim Kurdi, members of the Chamber's Executive Council, received a delegation from the Turkish Exporters' Association in the electricity and electronics sectors.
In a meeting attended by Akin Ak, Commercial Counselor at the Turkish Consulate in Erbil and the Chamber's General Director, as well as the advisor and head of the organizations department at the Chamber, discussions were held regarding trade relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region.
The visiting delegation announced that the Turkish Exporters' Association's total exports of goods to Iraq last year amounted to $17 billion. "We are looking to support and expand this volume, and for this purpose we need coordination with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce to organize a business conference in September of this year between 16 Turkish companies in the electricity and electronics sectors with companies from the Kurdistan Region."
For his part, Maarouf Aziz Khan Harki, Deputy President of the Chamber, after welcoming the delegation, generally highlighted the Chamber's activities and expressed his happiness with organizing this conference, showing the Chamber's readiness for all coordination efforts.
He also emphasized further development of trade relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region.
