Today, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Kamaran Salah Bajger, Deputy President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with some members of the Chamber's administrative council, welcomed Bohdanets Andriy Volodymyrovych, Head of the Agricultural Committee in the Ukrainian Parliament, and Tamila Tasheva, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament.
After welcoming them, in a meeting, the guest delegation discussed the products and goods that Ukraine exports. They stated that before the tensions between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian products, especially from the agricultural sector, were exported to the Kurdistan Region, but indirectly. Currently, due to the tensions, these exports have weakened. Therefore, "We are working and striving in the Ukrainian Parliament to create a trading platform between Ukraine and the Kurdistan Region to strengthen trade relations and export goods directly."
The guest delegation also revealed that in the near future, they will open their country's consulate in Erbil and at the same time, in coordination with the Governor of Erbil, they are working to recognize the twinning of the cities of Kyiv and Erbil.
Kamaran Salah Bajger, Deputy President of the Chamber, hoped that the tensions would end soon and peace and stability would prevail throughout the world. He stated, "Ukraine is one of the most influential and economically powerful countries in the world, and we will be happy, supportive, and coordinated for any work aimed at serving the trade and economic sectors."
The issue of opening an exhibition of Ukrainian products in Erbil and several other topics related to economic and trade relations between Ukraine and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the exchange of trade delegations between both sides, were also discussed.
