Erbil Governor Receives High-Level Turkish Trade Delegation
Today, Thursday 9/1/2025, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, in the presence of Geilan Haji Saeed, President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received at the Governor's Office a high-level delegation from the Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union, headed by Ethem Tanrıver, the Union's President, along with trade consuls from the Turkish Consulate in Erbil.
At the beginning of the meeting, focus was placed on the relations between Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union, emphasizing the importance of developing economic and trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey. The importance of joint cooperation was highlighted, and discussions were held regarding the economic situation and how to strengthen movement and trade conditions, as well as developing industry and investment between both sides.
In another segment of the meeting, discussions centered on revitalizing economic, trade, and industrial activities, and ensuring the provision of high-quality supplies to citizens and regional markets. The ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government's focus on both trade and industrial sectors was another topic of discussion.
Subsequently, the visiting delegation detailed their planned projects, while the Governor of Erbil, warmly welcoming them, emphasized that trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey are at a good level. He stated that the Kurdistan Regional Government's goal is to develop trade, tourism, and industrial sectors with other countries. To this end, he announced that their doors are always open for any commercial, industrial, tourism, or agricultural project, and as the Erbil Governorate, they are ready to provide all support and assistance within the framework of applicable laws and regulations.
