Erbil: On April 15, 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its Turkish counterpart Gibis in the presence of the two chambers' heads and a number of members of the board of directors from both sides, as well as a group of Turkish companies accompanying the head of the Turkish Chamber. In the ceremony of signing of the agreement, a number of speeches made, the outset by Dr. Dara Jalil Al Khayat, president of the Erbil Chamber saying that this ancient city enjoys the integrated industrial expertise that the region can benefit from. The purpose of signing this memorandum is to deepen economic and trade relations between the two parties. For his part, Mr. Nile Geller, president of the Turkish Gibis Chamber, said: "We have brought 13 companies with a number of our board members to say that the economy of our growing city is comparable to that of many Turkish cities we havenine industrial zones as well as other economic facilities. The Kurdistan Region is a safe area suitable for trade and investment, stressing that relations between the two parties will be strengthened to achieve a common benefit serving the economies of the two neighboring countries.
