Erbil: On 21.10.2014 Mr. Soran Abu Bakr al-Aziz, the Deputy Chairman of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the presence of Messrs.  Sadrradin Kamal and  Baqi Muhammad, a members of the Chamber's Board of Directors received on of each of Messrs. Jean-Philippe Jashijan economic adviser of  Canada in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Ghassan  al-Ashqardelegate of SNC  la Valan  Canadian Company, At the outset of the meeting, the economic adviser   stressed on the need foran economic and the importance of Canadian companies to enter the field in Kurdistan and take advantage fromKurdistandevelopment programs offered for investment after the opening of Canada's economic  office and another office to grant visa to those from  the Kurdistan Region.

He pointed out the need for a communication between Canadian and Kurdistan companies to work on the convergence of views between them in order to achieve commercial exchange serves the economies of both countries, as Mr. Ghassan Al-Ashqar spoke about his company, which has branches and activities in the GCC countries and readiness to implementprojects in the fields of  oil and gas, power, roads and bridges in the Kurdistan Region,projects worth amounts between 10-30billion dollars. Mr. Vice-President of the Chamber has expressed his delight offer assistance and full support  to Canadiancompanies that intend to work in Kurdistan to take advantage of the Investment Law No. 4 of 2006 and the facilities provided by the law for investors and foreign nationals alike focusing on the investment opportunities available in the areas ofagriculture, tourism.
