Trade delegation from Kurdistan visiting the Turkish city of Mersin

A view to a rapprochement between Turkey and Iraqtraders, and exchange of experiences between the two sides, trade delegation from Kurdistan region visited Turkish city of Mersin. The commercial delegation headed by Dara Jalil Khayat, the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and industry in the Kurdistan Region . The delegation participated in a conference organized by the Commercial Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mersin Turkey, on 29-30 June 2009. Khayat was accompanied by the head Dohuk chamber of Commerce and Industry, a number of traders from provinces of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, also participated in the Conference Chairman and Vice-President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and a number of Iraqi traders. The conference attended by a large number of traders , discussed the opportunities which could be offered by Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Kurdistani and Iraqi traders, through the port of Mersin, which is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea for the transport of goods to Iraq and facilities could be provided to them for this purpose. The delegation visited the port of Mersin province, discussed during a meeting with officials of the port ,the progress of work in the departments of the port and the facilities provided by the merchants and the Iraqis and Kurdistanis in the field of transport and cargo carrying and downloading different goods. The delegation also visited the Mersin Chamber of Navigation and discussed with officials ways to strengthen relations between the two sides, as the delegation visited the industrial zone in Mersin During the meeting with the officials discussed the promotion of trade relations and exchange of expertise and investment opportunities between the two sides, this visit will achieve positive results, in the future .
