Erbil: On 4 December 2018, a Lebanese delegation headed by Basil Jubran, the Lebanon Foreign Minister, and included the ministers of Anti-corruption, Trade, Finance, Oil and Energy, a number of traders and businessmen visited the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received by Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat, the President of the Chamber and the Chambers's staff.
In a meeting, attended by a number of traders and businessmen of Kurdistan. Dr. Dara said," We are delighted to receive this high profile delegation, were are set to develop the trade and investment sector in Kurdistan and support you,"
"The trade relation between Kurdistan and Lebanon is well, but the closure of the border
points between Syria and Lebanon has a negative impact, the relation continues but the traders are using airlines instead of ground transportation."
The Minister Basil Jubran said" We will try to get the trade relation back on track, and persuade the business owner to work with Kurdistan people and government.
The Lebanese companies came to Kurdistan for establishing business since 2008, they have established dozens of trade and investment projects. Before the emergence of financial crises, 1000 Lebanese companies and 20 thousands workers were working in Kurdistan, currently decreased to 500 companies and 4000 workers.
