Erbil: On 25 November 2018, A large Turkish commercial delegation headed by the president of Amed, Batman Chambers, accompanied by the board members of Wan, Jizeera, Shurnax Chambers, and a number of traders and businessmen in the fields of food industry, fruits and vegetables, furniture, construction, visited Erbil Chamber and received by Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat, his deputies, and members of board of directors. 

Basically, the aim of the visit was consolation of relations between Kurdistan Region and Turkey in general, and between South and North Kurdistan in particular. 

In a meeting, attended by a number of businessmen of Erbil, the attendees talked about the importance of this gathering. 

The president of the Chamber said" This is an important step, we see that over 90 businessmen are here in Kurdistan Region to further strengthen the commercial ties between Kurdistan Region and Turkey. We have already signed Memorandum with a number of Chambers,  our commercial ties are in continues consolidation." 

Then after, Mehmet Kaya, the President of the Batman Chamber, made a speech, said" We are here to develop our trade activities. Bolstering relations with Erbil Chamber has its specific importance. For us, the economy ahead of politics." 

"For the consolidation of the commercial ties, a lot of steps have been taken from KRG and the Turkish Government, meanwhile, we are in continues effort to terminate the custom problems that facing the traders from the both sides and to facilitate in visa providing." 

In another part of the Forum, Dr. Abdulqadir Damir, the President of Batman Chamber, gave a speech, said " We are feeling at home here, we hope maintaining in trade exchange, the development of our business, and to resolve all the problems facing the traders." 

A Memorandum of Understanding signed between Erbil Chamber and Amed and Batman Chambers, aimed at further arrangement of the trade affairs. A number of B2B meeting took place between the traders.
