Erbil: On 27/9/2017, Mr. Soran AbuBakir Aziz the deputy president of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, relieve can a Norwegian Commercial delegation headed by the president of the Norwegian Perumiz Kerkin Organization.
In a meeting, Mr. Eric Cella congratulated the Kurdistan people on holding the 25/9 Referendum.
And, he hailed the process as it was conducted fairly and democratically, knowing that he was an international observer. He said, the aim of his visit to the Chamber is the project of establishing a joint Chamber between Kurdistan and Norway which the headquarters to be in Oslo.
He added: Through this Chamber we can be able to consolidate relationships between the both sides and expand the Norwegian investment to Kurdistan.
The visiting delegation exposed that their organization has good relation with 15 countries, they are capable in the fields of Trade and Consultancy, they can invite the regions investor and businessmen for meetings, and also they an offer consultancy to the Kurdistan companies.
Mr. Abu Bakir said " the commercial relation between the both sides is weak, yet there is only one Norwegian company in the Region, we hoped to develop relations with Norway like all the other European countries."
He continued " the Kurdistan land is fertile and it's a touristic Region, there are abundant mineral resources and energy resources, there are investment opportunities in many sectors. "
He concluded " The Norway is an important country for Kurdistan, The Chamber has willingness in signing agreements with Norwegian investors and ask them to participate in the international fairs in Kurdistan, also we ask the Norway government to open a trade center in Erbil and start a direct flights to Kurdistan these two both are very essential in developing trade relations."
