Erbil: On 11/16/2015 , The Eightth  Erbil International Fair for Agriculture and Food opened ,with  wide participation of Arab and foreign companies , exceeded 130 company, of twenty Arab and foreign countries.

The Fair was held  on the ground of Erbil International Fair ,sponsored by the Kurdistan Regional Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources.

  Each of the following: Abdul Sattar Majeed, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources ,Safin  Dzayyi   official spokesman of the Kurdistan Regional Government and Dr.Dara Jalil Khayat Chairman of the Erbil  Chamber of Commerce and Industry  attended the ceremony the Minister of Agriculture gave a brief speech in which he praised the efforts that have been made to set up this exhibition, where the  government directed to encourage investment in the agriculture sector, and through this continued support has increased yields of agricultural crops in the region ,can be said it is doubled this year ,if compared to last year, also he said that the establishment of such exhibitions that will expand areas of development in the agricultural sector the main axis of the economies.

On the other hand, Mr. Safin Dzayyi said that the Kurdistan government welcomes companies that want to invest in the region, privately agricultural  ones, and the establishment of this exhibition  is a good gesture , to achieve the objective which the government seeks to reach them .

It is worth mentioning that the organizers of the exhibition made showcasing for  various agricultural and food products in addition to the greenhouse and the creation of animal husbandry fields, and the value ofprojects assessed by more than three hundred and fifty-two thousands dollars 0.52% related to livestock and 48% the cultivation of crops. The establishment of international exhibitions in the  Erbil capital  is a step to revive commercial activity in the region as a commercial gateway to Iraq. -
