Erbil: On 03.06.2015 Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry has received in his office Mr. Masaki Honda, first secretary at the Japanese Embassy in Baghdad, who visited the Chamber in order to discuss the development of economic and trade relations with the Kurdistan Region.

The last ten years and still is working to provide more aid through charitable organizations, and that twenty Japanese company of multi professions are in the process of visiting the region in order to expand economic presence and seeking to develop industrial construction and other development projects in Kurdistan, and also an official from the Organization of JETRO Japan hoped to visit the region soon, for the same goal, Mr. President of the Chamber welcomed the visit, stressing on the importance of the Japanese companies to have a bigger role in the economic arena in Kurdistan due to the need for the region to distinctive Japanese experience and products of Japanese companies by their accurately industry. Also expressed his regret of the lack of the presence of Japanese companies in the region despite of the explosive economic plans and the size of the existing investment in the region, stressing the need to narrow the gap to reach serious
convergence for future cooperation, and suggested that Japanese companies have to set up a trade fair in Erbil to open the way for the owners of the commercial interests of Kurdistan to joint efforts to serve the economies of both countries.
