Erbil- On 11.04.2016 , a delegation from the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry , headed by Mr. Ibrahim Sophie Vice President  the Chamber and Mr.Baqi  Mohammad Hadi and Kamal Aziz The two members of the board of directors of the Chamber are participated in the Kurdistan -Canadian Business Forum , which was held in the Canadian city of Toronto .

Also a number of owners of companies and business interests from Kurdistan  and their counterparts from the owners of the Canadian commercial interests attended the Forum .

The forum  also included discussions and  bilateral meetings  focused on trade and the global economic situation in general and Iraq and Kurdistan in particular.

The aim of holding this event  regarding the Kurdistan Region is working to build a bridge for  commercial communication between the two countries,  in addition to the strengthening of  economic  relations and trade at the levels that serve the infrastructure and economies of the region.

Erbil É On 14.4.2016 , A Bulgarian Business DElegation headed by Mr.Demetri Ogrinov ,the official of the Trade department i Bulgarian Embassy in Iraq ,visited the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and welcomed by Dr. Dara Jalil Khayat teh President of The Chamber . 

In  a meeting Mr.Demitri Ogrinov talked about the economy and trade  sector  in Bulgaria ,said :the commercial ties between Bulgaria and Kurdistan is fragile ,we should both work to go up to a good level and consolidate relations.

The head of the guest delegation said ,that they are qualified in the sectors of Tourism ,Agriculture and food Industry , to serve the economy of the Region in these fields.

At the same time he gave the Chamber an invitation to a Kurdistan trade  delegation to visit Bulgaria ,to meet the owner of business interests there and to attend an International Exhibition .Dr.Khayat  commended the step of Bulgaria  and asked them ,like many other European countries , if they encourage the Bulgarian companies to open branches in Kurdistan  ,and invest in the Region ,he expressed the readiness of the Chamber to support their steps .

ErbilÉ On 11.4.2016 , a delegation od Amed Chamber of Commerce visited ERbil Chamber and welcomed by Dr.Dara Jalil Khayat the President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

In a meeting the sides emphasized on the promotion of Relation between both sides ,they hoped the visa obstacles between Kurdistan and Turkey to be removed soon . 

The guest delegation expressed their happiness for the opening the direct flight between Erbil  and Amed .

ErbilÉ On 5.4.2016 , A delegation from Morocco kingdom  ,headed by Mr .Elias Alaamari the secretary of Moroccan  Modern Party visited the Chamber and welcomed by Mr.Ibrahim Sofi The deputy president of Erbil Chamber of Commerce . 

The sides talked about the Moroccan international projects in the past and future .

The guest delegation said that they are a leading country in the fields of phosphate production and  Fish resource ,also in the field of tourism 

Alamari said ,that Kurdistan Region and Morocco have a good political relation , we intend to develope our commercial and economic relations , in the outset in the name of the Moroccan Chamber I formally invite the Erbil Chamber to visit our country to bring our relation to a new phase .And said " We will  intend to open a diplomatic office in Erbil ,work for visa facilitation .Í

Mr.Sofi hailed the Moroccan steps ,described as a solid step toward promoted relation.

Erbil- On 04/04/2016, a meeting held in the parliament building on the good preparation for setting specifications when the Kurdistan  importers supplying  goods to the Region .

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the import Committee with a number of parliamentariansinvolved  in the case ,and Mr.  Sarkawt Jamal  member of the Board of Directors of the Erbil  Chamber of Commerce and Industry , the attendees of the meeting  discussed  topics relating to goods coming into the Region in term of  the quality andthe  importance of focusing on the quality of those goods in order to protect consumer rights

Erbil- On 04.04.2016 ,the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Kurdistan Institute of Management was held at the office of the institute inside the Erbil  Chamber building .The Institute was established by the International Finance Corporation in cooperation with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry  after the parties signed an agreement ,came into  effect on 12.15.2015, and called the Institute of Kurdistan of management , which aims to provide advisory services for corporate governance for members of corporate boards and senior administrations  in addition to businessmen and businesswomen in the region in order to improve the efficiency of the performance of their management  and the continuity of its activities and ways  coping risks and crises that have exposed companies to reach the best performance, in a way can  serve the economies of the region . 

Dr. Amira Al-Ajaj the official of corporate governance programs in the Middle East and North Africa in the mentioned organization , commended  the Chamber of Commerce and its president's efforts it has  foresight and insistence on the business community serving in Erbil, in particular, and the Kurdistan region in general, as Ms. Aljaj  expressed their gratitude for the  effective  role of the Chamber in good preparation for the establishment of this institute and the allocation of the office  to it inside the edifice 

Erbil -The Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry established a committee to study and plan for taking up the curing costs of Peshmarga heroes , who wounded in the front lines of war against ISIS .

The Chamber on 30.3.2016, has establishes a committee  headed by the  deputy president of the Chamber and the membership od 4 members of board of directors .The Committee started the mission ,and with the representative of Peshmarga Ministry ,visited  the Nawroz Private hospital  for rehabilitati,on and The American Ophthalmic Center  , met here with the heroes who wounded and agreed with the hospitals administration to afford the curing costs of the Peshmarga forces  including hip surgeries .

The Chamber previously supported a number of humanitarian organization to offer curing support to Peshmmarga .

 Erbil- On 31.3.2016 ,over 25 Turkish companies participated in Kurdistan -Turkey Business Forum in Erbil .

The Forum held  at the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry  building . The Turkish companies were  from various fields of business, including (clothing - electronics - furniture and pharmaceutical materials), also attended the forum their counterparts from Kurdistan Region .

Dr.Dara Jalil Khayat the ptresident of Erbil Chamber gave  a brief speech in which he praised that  presence in this circumstance where the Kurdistan region is going through a financial crisis and pointed to good business relations with the neighboring Turkey ,which is going towards the development and expansion . Mr. President of the Chamber  stressed on  the need to provide the necessary facilities regarding the granting of visa  to traders in the  region to facilitate movement and quick access to Turktraders .

M. Mustafa Yilmaz the trade  attache  at the Turkish consulate in Erbil attended  the Forum ,and and Mr.Tariq Jager the  vice president of the Akdenez  Union of Importers  was heading the Turkish delegation said  that' Kurdistan is important because of the common cultures of the two peoples" and also said that in the period of past Ten years undergone a qualitative development in relations between the two countries reaching bilateral trade volume to ten billion dollars a year and this figure is significant in trade relations, and noted that Turkey is seeking to supply best goods to Kurdistan and Iraq.

In the end bilateral meetings between the owners of the commercial interests  held ,for the exchange of views on future trade cooperation, and  gifts exchanged between the parties.

Erbil-On 30.3.2016 , Dr.Dara Jalil Khayat the president of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed a representatives of The Lebanese France Bank in Kurdistan ,headed by Mr.Nicolas Abud , the executive director of the Bank . 

The sides talked about a number of issues and commercial activities implemented by the Bank in Kurdistan and Iraq, and its collaborations in the fields of agriculture, trade ,and industry .

Dr.Khayat hailed the initiatives of the Bank and hoped them success to serve the economies of the both sides .  Worth mentioned that Bank has 11 branches out side Lebanon 2 of them in Erbil and Baghdad
